Stephanie Ahrens, DO
Dr. Ahrens attended St. Olaf College and then received her medical degree from Des Moines University Osteopathic College of Medicine. She then completed pediatric neurology residency, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy surgery fellowships at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr Ahrens’ passion for pediatric epilepsy is founded in the relationships she builds with families. “Epilepsy can be challenging to navigate! It is a privilege to be able to provide education, compassion, and guidance for patients and their families every step of the way”.
Dr. Ahrens’ clinical areas of expertise and research interests include epilepsy surgery and intractable epilepsy management. She is well published in epilepsy surgery practice and epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) practice, including authorship on the recent National Accreditation of Epilepsy Center (NAEC) Specialized Epilepsy Center Guidelines.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahrens stays busy keeping up with her three kids and aussiedoodle, Pepin. She also enjoys cooking with her husband and exploring the great MN outdoors!
