IT Specialist
Minnesota Epilepsy Group is the largest and most comprehensive adult and pediatric epilepsy program in the Midwest. Job Summary:
Essential Position Functions:
- Setup, install and configure hardware including workstations, printers, scanners, and other related network equipment
- Setup, install and configure software on workstations and other network components
- Monitor Service Desk for IT issues and address the issues in a timely fashion
- Troubleshoot and solve problems employees are experiencing with personal computers, mobile computers, smartphones, LAN/WAN connections, video cameras, card readers and software functions at various locations
- Ensure systems are updated with the latest security updates on operating systems and applications
- Manage user accounts on LAN/Cloud
- Enforce security measures provided within the IT Policy
- Assist the IT Team in the supporting and maintaining the VoIP and voicemail system
- Assist keeping the network software and hardware inventory
- Assist in maintaining software and hardware licensing information
- Assist in coordination of vendor activities
- On-Call Rotation Responsibilities:
- Being available outside of regular working hours to address critical issues
- Responding to alerts and escalations promptly
- Performing necessary troubleshooting and temporary fixes until the issue can be fully resolved during regular business hours
- Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or similar field preferred
- Four (4) years of experience in the computer technology field
- An understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN).
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with a wide variety of computer software packages and hardware platforms
- Experience in setting up and installing personal computers
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating systems
- Experience in Microsoft Office 365 and its various applications is desired
- Experience with Voice-over-IP is a plus
- Experience with Help Desk software
- Network + and/or A+ technical training is desired
Starting Salary $23.00
