Blue Cross Blue Shield and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota

June 30, 2017 · News

You are likely aware of the current issues surrounding the contract between Blue Cross Blue Shield and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. While we remain optimistic the two sides will reach an agreement by the July 5, 2017 deadline, we want to reassure Minnesota Epilepsy Group families that if the contract between Children’s and Blue Cross Blue Shield does expire, their child’s ability to continue to receive care from their Minnesota Epilepsy Group provider will not be affected.

Minnesota Epilepsy Group continues to accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and we have contracts in place that allow Minnesota Epilepsy Group patients covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield to receive care at our clinic locations. Additionally, our adult and pediatric physicians provide epilepsy care at Abbott Northwestern and United Hospitals.

While we encourage families to know their insurance benefits and coverage, we recognize there are significant challenges and concerns related to this situation. If you have questions, we recommend you contact your insurance provider or call us for assistance, at 651-241-5290, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We remain committed to our ONE FOCUS, providing the very best epilepsy care-for life and thank you for the opportunity to care for your child.
Sincerely,

Deanna Dickens, MD
