Server Administrator

Key Responsibilities
- Server Management:

- Installation and Configuration: Setting up new servers and configuring them for specific needs.

- Maintenance: Regularly updating software and hardware, ensuring optimal performance.

- Monitoring: Tracking server performance, identifying potential issues, and proactively addressing them.

- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems.
- Security:

- Security Audits: Regularly assessing systems for vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with security policies.

- User Access Control: Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure appropriate access to resources.
- User Support:

- Technical Support: Providing technical assistance to IT Specialist and end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

- Documentation: Maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation of systems and procedures.
- On-Call Rotation Responsibilities:
- Being available outside of regular working hours to address critical issues
- Responding to alerts and escalations promptly
- Performing necessary troubleshooting and temporary fixes until the issue can be fully resolved during regular business hours
- Other Responsibilities:

- Backup and Recovery: Monitoring and managing data backup.

- Performance Optimization: Identifying and implementing measures to improve server performance and efficiency.

- Project Participation: Participating in IT projects.

- Staying Current: Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in server administration.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field preferred
- Four (4) years of experience in the computer technology field
- A solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN is necessary.
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with a wide variety of computer software packages and hardware platforms
- Experience in setting up and installing personal computers
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described
Desired Qualifications:

- Ability to perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described
- Experience with Natus xltek software
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Experience in Microsoft Office 365 and its various applications
- Experience with Voice-over-IP is a plus
- Experience with Help Desk software
- Certifications like Server+ and MCSE can be beneficial.
